Roodewal Bush Lodge
Private group lodge in central Kruger's predator heartland — exclusive-use for up to 19 guests
About Roodewal Bush Lodge
Roodewal Bush Lodge is SANParks’ exclusive-use bush lodge in central Kruger, located between Olifants and Satara in the park’s prime predator-viewing territory. Like Boulders in the north, the entire camp is booked by a single group — giving families and friends their own private piece of Kruger.
The lodge consists of five units accommodating up to 19 guests, set in the bushveld with views over the surrounding grasslands. A communal kitchen with all self-catering equipment, a boma with fire pit, and outdoor seating areas provide comfortable shared spaces.
The location is outstanding. Roodewal sits in the transition zone between Satara’s open grasslands and the Olifants River woodland — an area renowned for lion, leopard, cheetah, and regular wild dog sightings. Game drives from Roodewal can head south towards Satara for predators or north towards Olifants for elephant and river-based game viewing.
As with all SANParks bush lodges, Roodewal is self-catering and self-drive — no guides or rangers are provided. The lodge is popular for milestone celebrations, family reunions, and group safaris where having your own exclusive camp adds immeasurably to the experience.
