From JHB: 5.5–6 hours' drive via N4 through Nelspruit and Malelane. About 1 hour from KMIA airport.
Best: Year-round. The conservancy animals are resident, so there's always something on your stoep. For Kruger day trips, dry season (May to September) gives the best game viewing across the river.
