Gates: Malelane Gate (±5–15 minutes from most accommodation)
From JHB: ±4–5 hours’ drive via the N4
Best: Malelane works well year-round as a Kruger base. The dry winter months (May to September) are best for game viewing, with cooler temperatures and animals concentrating around water. Summer (October to March) is hotter and more humid, with greener landscapes and occasional afternoon storms.
