From JHB: ±5–6 hours’ drive via N4 through Nelspruit and Malelane
Best: Komatipoort works as a base year-round, but the dry season (May to September) offers the best game viewing in nearby southern Kruger, as animals concentrate around water sources and visibility improves. The summer months (October to March) bring greener landscapes and birdlife but are hotter and more humid, with afternoon rains common.
