Kings Camp
Luxury in the Timbavati — home of the rare white lion, with all-inclusive Big Five safaris
About Kings Camp
Kings Camp is a luxury safari lodge in the Timbavati Private Nature Reserve, one of the most famous wildlife areas in the Greater Kruger region. The Timbavati is renowned as the birthplace of the rare white lion — a natural genetic variation first documented here in the 1970s — and Kings Camp sits at the heart of this storied wilderness.
The lodge offers 10 air-conditioned suites with private decks, indoor and outdoor showers, and views over the surrounding bush. The décor blends colonial-era elegance with contemporary comfort, and the communal areas — including a boma, wine cellar, swimming pool, and viewing deck — create a sociable yet refined atmosphere.
The Timbavati shares unfenced borders with Kruger National Park, allowing the Big Five to roam freely across over 53,000 hectares of protected wilderness. Game drives are conducted in open 4×4 vehicles with experienced rangers and trackers, with morning, afternoon, and night drives available. Walking safaris offer a more intimate way to experience the bush.
All meals, local drinks, and activities are included, with dining ranging from hearty bush breakfasts to elegant evening meals. The lodge also offers spa treatments, a well-stocked wine cellar for tastings, and a curio shop.
