Baobab Ridge
Intimate, family-owned Klaserie lodge with just seven suites — authentic and affordable luxury
About Baobab Ridge
Baobab Ridge is a small, family-owned safari lodge tucked away in the Klaserie Private Nature Reserve. With just seven private suites sleeping a maximum of 16 guests, the lodge offers a sense of serenity and exclusivity that larger lodges simply cannot replicate. The family atmosphere, personal touches, and genuine warmth of the staff make guests feel immediately at home.
The lodge is named for the ancient baobab trees that dot the surrounding landscape, and the property blends seamlessly into its natural setting. Each air-conditioned suite features a private veranda, en-suite bathroom, minibar, and coffee station. The main lodge area includes a swimming pool overlooking the bush, a boma for evening fires, and a dining area where excellent meals are served family-style.
Game drives on open 4×4 vehicles explore the Klaserie’s Big Five territory, with unfenced borders allowing wildlife to move freely between the Klaserie, Timbavati, and Kruger National Park. The lodge’s position on a seasonal riverbed with an active waterhole means wildlife is frequently visible from camp itself — elephants, giraffe, and even predators are regularly spotted from the pool deck.
Baobab Ridge is an excellent choice for guests seeking an authentic, affordable luxury safari without the premium price tag of the larger Sabi Sand or Timbavati lodges.
