Kambaku Safari Lodge
Intimate eco-lodge with just 16 guests — authentic Timbavati on a conscious budget
About Kambaku Safari Lodge
Kambaku Safari Lodge offers an intimate, eco-conscious safari experience in the northern Timbavati Private Nature Reserve. With just eight rooms accommodating a maximum of 16 guests, Kambaku delivers a personalised experience that larger lodges cannot match — you’ll never feel like one of a crowd.
The lodge sits in a remote section of the Timbavati where vehicle traffic is minimal, resulting in peaceful, unhurried wildlife sightings. Rangers and trackers have extensive knowledge of the local wildlife, and the lodge’s private traversing area provides consistent Big Five encounters without the competition of multiple vehicles.
Accommodation is in eight comfortable, air-conditioned rooms with thatched roofs, en-suite bathrooms, and private verandas overlooking the bush. The main lodge features a swimming pool, a lounge-bar area, and a dining deck where meals are served under the stars or in the shade of ancient trees.
Kambaku is particularly popular with guests seeking an authentic, value-for-money Timbavati experience. The rate includes all meals, local drinks, and twice-daily game drives — making it one of the more accessible entry points into this world-class game reserve.
