Rhino Post Safari Lodge
Eco-luxury walking safari lodge on a private concession inside Kruger — sleep under the stars
About Rhino Post Safari Lodge
Rhino Post Safari Lodge offers an immersive bush experience on a private 12,000-hectare concession inside Kruger National Park, near Skukuza. What sets Rhino Post apart from other Kruger lodges is its focus on walking safaris and its unique sleep-out experience — guests spend a night in an elevated platform in the bush, falling asleep under a canopy of stars with the sounds of the African night all around them.
The lodge itself is deliberately understated — eight comfortable canvas-and-wood suites raised on stilts with views over the bush. There is no fence between the lodge and the wilderness, creating an authentic sense of immersion that more heavily developed lodges cannot replicate. Solar power provides electricity, and the overall ethos is low-impact, high-experience.
Game drives on the exclusive concession are conducted in open vehicles with excellent guides, and the off-road tracking provides close-up encounters with Big Five animals. But it is the guided walking safaris that define the Rhino Post experience — moving through the bush on foot with an armed ranger, reading tracks, and experiencing the wilderness at ground level.
The sleep-out, at the Plains Camp satellite, is the highlight for many guests — a truly wild night with nothing between you and the bush but a mosquito net and the stars above.
