Londolozi Private Game Reserve
Pioneer of luxury safaris — legendary leopard sightings across five distinct camps since 1926
About Londolozi Private Game Reserve
Londolozi is one of the founding lodges of the South African luxury safari industry, established in 1926 in what is now the Sabi Sand Game Reserve. The Varty family has operated the reserve for four generations, building a conservation and hospitality legacy that has influenced safari tourism across the continent.
The reserve is renowned for its extraordinary leopard sightings — the Londolozi leopards are among the most habituated and photographed in Africa, with multiple generations tracked and known by name. This intimacy with the wildlife is the result of decades of ethical, patient fieldwork by the Londolozi tracker and ranger team.
Five distinct camps cater to different experiences: Pioneer Camp for understated elegance, Tree Camp for treetop romance, Granite Suites for ultra-private luxury, Founders Camp for classic safari warmth, and Varty Camp for family-friendly adventures. Each camp has its own character, chef, and host team.
Game drives are conducted on Londolozi’s exclusive traversing rights within the Sabi Sand, where unfenced borders with Kruger National Park allow the Big Five to roam freely. Morning and afternoon drives in open Land Rovers are led by exceptional guides — many of whom have spent their entire careers at Londolozi.
