Malelane Satellite Camp
Small satellite camp minutes from Malelane Gate — self-catering cottages in Big Five bush
About Malelane Satellite Camp
Malelane Satellite Camp is a small, peaceful camp located just 2 km inside Kruger’s Malelane Gate in the far south of the park. Operating as a satellite of nearby Berg-en-Dal, the camp offers a handful of self-catering cottages in a quiet riverside setting.
The camp sits on the Crocodile River, which forms Kruger’s southern boundary. The surrounding bush is excellent for white rhino, and the roads between Malelane and Berg-en-Dal regularly produce sightings of lion, leopard, elephant, and buffalo. The area is less heavily visited than the Skukuza–Lower Sabie corridor, offering a quieter alternative in southern Kruger.
Cottages are equipped with air conditioning, en-suite facilities, kitchenettes, and braai areas. There is no shop or restaurant — the Berg-en-Dal shop is the nearest supply point. The camp’s small size and convenient gate access make it a good option for late arrivals or visitors who want a quiet base close to the N4 highway.
