About Chitwa Chitwa Game Lodge
Chitwa Chitwa is a boutique lodge on the shores of a natural lake in the Sabi Sand Game Reserve — an unusual setting that gives the lodge a distinctive character among the predominantly river-frontage properties in the reserve. The name means “to think” in Shangaan, and the tranquil lakeside setting encourages exactly that.
Six individually designed suites blend African and Asian influences in a warm, eclectic style. Each suite has a private plunge pool, outdoor shower, and lake-view deck. The main lodge area wraps around the lake, with a swimming pool, lounge, and multiple dining areas creating an intimate and sociable atmosphere.
Game drives on Chitwa Chitwa’s Sabi Sand traversing rights deliver outstanding Big Five viewing. The legendary Sabi Sand leopard population provides reliable, close-up encounters, and the diversity of habitats around the lake attracts a wider variety of species than many river-only concessions.
