Kruger Park Lodge
Self-catering resort on the Sabie River with golf, pools, and hippo on the property
About Kruger Park Lodge
Kruger Park Lodge is a popular self-catering timeshare resort in Hazyview, set on the banks of the Sabie River just 12 kilometres from Kruger’s Phabeni Gate. The estate is known for its Gary Player-designed 9-hole golf course, where resident impala, warthog, and hippo share the fairways with golfers — a uniquely African golfing experience.
Accommodation comprises private, thatched chalets scattered among mahogany trees and indigenous gardens. Each chalet is independently owned and furnished, so standards vary, but most offer two or three bedrooms, full kitchens, living areas, and private braai facilities. Three communal swimming pools, tennis courts, trampolines, and a playground make the estate particularly popular with families.
The lodge’s location is hard to beat for Kruger self-drive visitors — Phabeni Gate is a 20-minute drive, and the estate’s secure, gated environment provides a safe and convenient base for daily park excursions. Hazyview town, with restaurants, supermarkets, and curio shopping, is a 5-minute drive.
Hippo from the Sabie River sometimes wander onto the golf course at night, and impala graze freely across the estate. The combination of affordable self-catering accommodation, excellent facilities, and proximity to Kruger makes this one of the most booked properties in the Hazyview area.
