About Crocodile Bridge Rest Camp

Crocodile Bridge Rest Camp is a small, no-frills camp at Kruger’s southeastern corner, right at the Crocodile Bridge Gate near Komatipoort. Despite its modest size and basic facilities, the camp punches well above its weight when it comes to wildlife — the surrounding grasslands and thornveld are legendary for large buffalo herds and multiple lion prides.

The game-viewing area known as the “Southern Circle” is renowned for its concentration of predators. The H4-2 road from Crocodile Bridge to Lower Sabie is consistently rated as one of the best game drives in Kruger, with sightings of all Big Five regularly reported. The area is one of the few in the park where you might see all five in a single day.

The camp offers basic accommodation — rondavels and safari tents — with communal facilities. There is no restaurant, but a small shop sells basic supplies. The camp’s greatest asset is its affordability and its proximity to Marloth Park, where hundreds of self-catering bush houses offer an alternative base just 10 minutes from the gate.
